We decided to bight the bullet and upgrade our accomodation. Our bed sit was starting to get us down after 7 months. Having a bloody great bed in the lounge is ok for a while but........!
Gina came up trumps when she saw an ad in the Yorkshire Post. So we rang and we are delighted with our flat to be. It is even closer to the centre of town, about 3 minutes walk. It's a 1 bedroom affair, which has just been done up by it's delightful owners.
We have been out to Ikea in Leeds today and have gone through the traumatic experience of shopping there. It is over - huge folks. Humungous. So big you can't tell where you are in the building. You just have to follow the arrows on the floor. Doing this takes you past every single item they have for sale and finally ends you up in the warehouse where you take your purchases off the shelves. Even on a Tuesday it was heaving. I was in a state of catatonic shock by the time we reached carpark. However we did manage to buy a bed, mattress and one of those sofas that turns into a double bed (for you when you visit). All of this was efficiently delivered this afternoon for the small sum of 35 quid extra. Ikea is great but not for the uninitiated. Still next time it wont be so bad and the prices are excellent.
So we move on 16th after returning from Cornwall. We are really looking forward to living in what is near enough to normality. Meanwhile I will recover on scrumpy.
